Which is a shame, because the country is beautiful and the people seem nice enough, although with economic depression you get a lot of trashy kids sitting around with nothing to do. Chepstow isn't anything to crow about, although it reminds me a lot of Kilkenny in its layout and history of British domination.
I finally have my hunger back and have had proper meals since I arrived. After spending the day hiking the Wye Valley Walk I am famished and am just waiting to pick up some laundry before I clean up and go eat.
The walk was brutal but the most fun I've had on this trip. It took about four hours to get from Chepstow to Tintern and for at least the first half it was nearly all uphill as I wound my way up the valley onto a long ridge that followed the river north. I didn't see a single person on the trail until I was more than halfway along the route.
Tomorrow is another travel day, which is always fine with me when it involves a rail journey through scenic routes. Wish me luck that the ferry crossing goes well and that I make it to Waterford without too much delay.
